# Tarique Khan Overview of Tarique's personal site. Canonical public site: https://tariquekhan.ca/ Tarique works in enterprise sales and business development in fintech, with experience serving banks, credit unions and fintechs in Canada and the United States. His work includes sourcing opportunities, buyer business cases, proposals, commercial terms, and the positioning and materials around a sale. ## Selected work - Brim Financial: January 2022 to September 2026. Business development for card issuing and payments infrastructure, including opportunities, proposals and commercial discussions. Work included supporting business cases, program economics, RFP responses, diligence and discussions on commercial terms and launch requirements. The scale of the work involved multimillion-dollar, multi-year contracts; this is not a statement of personally booked revenue. - LemonadeLXP: February 2017 to February 2019; one of the first sales hires. Helped grow the financial-institution client base from one to twelve during his time: an initial foothold, broader use cases and conversations with new institutions. This describes shared growth rather than sole personal credit. - exagens: February 2019 to June 2021; work with Desjardins on an established product. COVID changed the context and required reworking the proposition; Tarique then helped develop two new U.S. credit union pilots. Pilots are not described as production rollouts. - Railz: June 2021 to January 2022 in an early sales effort for a developer-led accounting data API. Connected a technical, developer-led product to business-unit needs at lenders and fintechs, alongside integration, data-rights and risk questions. The company was later acquired by FIS; no personal role in the acquisition is claimed. ## Approach Less selling, more helping someone buy. Tarique sources opportunities through relationships built over years, events, research, referrals and inbound enquiries. He asks about fit, timing, budget and decision ownership early, works with buyers on business cases and brings the relevant specialists together. A useful next move may be an agreed action, a time to reconnect or an honest no. Contracts, budgets, people and priorities can change the decision. The agreement must work after signing, including scope, price, contract length, implementation and ongoing commitments. His commercial work also includes translating buyer conversations into clearer positioning and useful sales materials. ## Community and curiosity - FinTech North: brings together a community of practitioners across banking, fintech and related fields. https://fintechnorth.ca/ - Flow of Funds: a project Tarique built to explore how money moves using diagrams. https://flows.fintechnorth.ca/ - Fintech Cadence: mentor since April 2020, with founder office hours and community programming and events. - Personal interests shown on the site include experimenting with projects and exploring the city by bike. ## Where Tarique fits best Tarique is open to commercial roles and project work. Relevant situations include building the commercial side of a business, expanding into Canada or the U.S., and enterprise products whose buying decisions involve business cases, multiple stakeholders, diligence and commercial terms. His contribution spans sales and business development, with the strategy, positioning and marketing work around them. An introductory message can describe what needs to get done, who it is for and the timing. ## Contact Based in Toronto. Email: tariquek@gmail.com. Phone: +1-905-399-8352.
