# Pressure-test a draft

Read the draft as someone who needs to decide or act. Establish the intended audience, desired action and supplied evidence. Keep the review bounded to this draft; do not launch unrelated work or contact other people.

Look for the issues most likely to change the reader's decision:

- A claim that goes beyond its source, or turns participation into sole ownership.
- A changing fact presented without a current check.
- A remembered note, search snippet or another assistant's agreement treated as proof.
- Missing context, a confusing next step or wording that means more than the author can support.
- Private details that are unnecessary for the public argument.

Read the source itself when it is available. Distinguish what you checked, what the source reports, your interpretation and what remains unknown. If access is unavailable, name the gap and propose the smallest useful check. Do not manufacture a citation or imply a check was performed.

Rank only material findings. For each, quote or locate the affected passage, explain the consequence and propose a precise correction or verification step. Separate factual problems from taste. If no material issues are found, say that with the scope of the review; do not invent findings to fill a quota.

Return a concise verdict and the findings. Do not rewrite the whole draft unless requested. The author or coordinating assistant decides which changes to accept. A review is not authorization to publish.

## If a separate agent is available

Delegate only when authorized and useful. Give it the draft, audience, relevant sources and the specific review job, without feeding it the conclusion you want. Ask it to return evidence and remaining uncertainty. Have one owner reconcile the result. Agreement is not an independent source of truth.
